Context

Payment integrations fail in quiet ways: duplicated charges, lost webhooks and reports that disagree with the bank.

Approach

Every outgoing call carries an idempotency key, every incoming webhook goes through a durable queue, and a nightly job reconciles both sides.

Highlights

  • Zero duplicated charges across the concept’s fault-injection runs
  • Webhook processing survives provider outages through a durable queue
  • Reconciliation report readable by non-engineers
  • p95 checkout latency of 420 ms in the load test

Outcome

The connector became the reference design for the other fictional integrations in this portfolio.
